7th grade students used different bird 'beaks' to see which ones could pick up the most 'food'. Students then discussed how the shape, size, and function of the 'beak' allowed (or prevented) this accumulation of food. It was great to see the kids so engaged with the lab and also able to articulate their (scientific) thinking!
