Day 92: College, artwork, & special guest

Since I'm currently at Educon, an educational conference in Philadelphia, I emailed my campus to see if I could get a "guest post" by anyone able to get a picture of something good going on at Crockett. I was so excited to receive multiple pictures from an art teacher, our college advisor, and our librarian! So I combined them into one picture for the main image, but the rest of the pictures can be seen below.

45 students from across all grade levels got to visit both Southwestern University (in Georgetown, TX) and St. Edwards University (in Austin, TX). For nearly every kid, this was the first time they had been on a smaller, liberal arts college campus, and despite the weather being brutally cold (for Austin), the students had a great time exploring and getting tours of both places. - Ms. Kailey, the college advisor

During lunch in the library today, Author Varian Johnson visited Crockett students in continuing the "Author Lunch in the Library" series. Mr. Johnson is the author of several young adult titles, including "My Life as a Rhombus" and "Saving Maddie". Over 40 students turned out to listen to him talk about becoming a writer and the writing and editing process. They asked wonderful questions and were an amazing audience! - Mrs. Gibson, the librarian
