8th grade science classes are piloting an NSF grant funded project with the University of Texas on Computational Chemistry. Students are learning to code a little bit while controlling simulations related to chemistry.
One student had finished a little early for the day and when I asked her "What did you think at the beginning of this project?" (which was about a week ago), she quickly responded with "I knew there was no way I could do it." So then I asked "What do you think now?" to which she said "Now I think I can do it!"
It just doesn't get any better than that!
