Burnet Middle School hosted a facilities meeting tonight about future plans for our district, specifically focused on schools in our area. We have extreme overcrowding in northwest Austin while schools on the east side are under utilized, creating complex political and facility problems for district leaders. Many of our schools are also in need of modernization, and it was great to see the vision for these schools laid out in formal documents. I look forward to seeing what AISD does to transform our schools into modern learning spaces!
